New Addition………“Kids Corner” at Hudson River Trading Co. in North Creek Is A Big Hit!
The new “Kids Corner” at Hudson River Trading Co. offers hundreds of children's books about the habits and habitats of Adirondack animals; loons, bears, snakes, insects, frogs, wolves, birds and more. Here you will also find books on building tree houses, cookbooks for children and many Newberry and Caldecott Medal winners.
The new addition also offers replicas of highly crafted toys and games reminiscent of a simpler, less hectic time. Discover paradoxical wood puzzles, pick up sticks, old maid cards, pin the tail on the donkey and marble games. Rainy day games sets including dominoes, checkers, chess and cribbage in convenient wood boxes are perfect for home, camp or cottage for years to come.
Kids Adirondack sweatshirts, Life Is Good T-shirts and Frisbees are displayed together with edible Adirondack black fly and mosquito eggs, chocolate Moose-cicles, and bear paws, homemade Deer Doodle, Bear Poo or Moose Droppings. This “Kid Friendly Store” loves to hear children giggle.
In the same “Corner” you will find stuffed moose, snoring beaver, Audubon songbirds and the music of Brent Holmes. Brent is one of the best-selling children's recording artists in North America. His CD’s include Moose Tunes For Kids, Bear Tunes for Kids, Cow Tunes for Kids and MooseBeary Jam, all featuring very silly songs for singing, dancing and learning for ages 1 to 101.
“We are definitely a kid friendly store”, says owner Laurie Arnheiter, “with this new addition we hope to offer parents and grandparents quality toys, games and books to replace the TV during the summer or any time. “Some of my best memories with my kids are the marathon rummy games we played when the power was out or on vacation. I like being in the business of helping make good memories.”
Hudson River Trading Co. is located on Main Street in North Creek, NY, overlooking the Hudson River and the Upper Hudson River Railroad. It is open daily from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm in the summer. For more information or directions call 518.251.4461. |
